Chamille Burch - AmeriCorp VISTA, The LEAGUE & HandsOn Battle Creek
Chamille Burch recently graduated from Grand Valley State University and has relocated here in Battle Creek from Grand Rapids. In Chamille’s new position, she works with The LEAGUE to bring service-learning into K-12 classrooms. She loves the vision and mission of this program because she believes that if we want the world to change, we must roll up our shirt sleeves and get to work, no matter how young or old. It is very important to introduce young people to philanthropy and the idea of giving back to the community at an early age, in hopes that they continue giving into adulthood.
Outside of work, Chamille is a member of the YMCA, and enjoys trying new fitness classes; her favorite is Pilates. She also enjoy reading, and spending time with her new roommates: Grandma and Grandpa! She is very excited about what’s to come during her year of service, and hopes that she will leave a mark here in the Battle Creek Community.
HandsOn Battle Creek is currently making a list of people that may want to get involved in the clean-up efforts for the Kalamazoo River. As soon as opportunities are created, volunteers will be contacted by the Office of Emergency Management. To become a part of this effort, you must create a user profile on our website, or if you already have one login by clicking here.
